Special
Mine Services, Inc., (SMS) was founded in 1983 after several
years of marketing different electrical products to the coal
mines located in the Illinois Coal Basin.
Responding to a task presented by a major nickel ore producer
in North America, SMS also developed the Lever-Action low
voltage connector which is now recognized as the industry
leader.
The present design was accomplished with collaborative advice
from electrical, mechanical, and production representatives
from various underground operations.
SMS and Norton Electric Wholesale (NEW)
continue the practice of offering connector solutions to the
Mining, Rail & Shipping industries with a combination of specialist
product knowledge and manufacturing flexibility.
