Meltric® DB/DSM series plugs, receptacles, and connectors are designed for use with highly inductive and resistive loads. They are specifically engineered as the combination of a disconnect switch and plug and receptacle, and therefore will make and break resistive, tungsten, motor loads, and highly inductive overloads.

Common applications include, but are not limited to: Portable pumps, air conditioners, portable conveyer systems, mixers, and grinders.

The DB/DSM can be used in an application where a non-fused enclosed switch, a safety switch, manual switch, or manual motor controller is required along with a traditional pin and sleeve plug and receptacle.

The DB/DSM alone acts as both, thus eliminating the requirements for a mechanical linkage to either a disconnect or circuit breaking box.

Because the DB/DSM is UL listed as a switch, it is operable in a properly fused inductive or resistive circuit as the branch circuit/motor disconnect, while offering the convenience of a plug and receptacle at a lower cost than a mechanical interlock.

The DB/DSM can also function as a plug and connector, making it more versatile because other systems require a wall-mounted device.
