IEC 309 Plugs, Connectors, and Receptacles

The complete line of Russellstoll¨ watertight and splashproof non-metallic UNI-GARDú connectors, plugs, receptacles, inlets, and accessories are designed to meet IEC 309-1, -2 Standards, as well as UL, CSA, and VDE compliance.  They will connect to other manufacturers' products conforming to these standards throughout the world. NEW also offers a full selection of Russellstoll UNI-GARD¨ IEC-rated data processing-grade pin and sleeve devices.  These electrical products are designed to be safe, reliable, and easy to use.

The watertight series is designed for operation in extreme heat, cold, vibration/shock, water, mud, dust, or dirt.  UNI-GARD connectors are available in 20A, 30A, 60A, and 100A (International 16A, 32A, 63A, and 125A) ratings in 3-, 4-, and 5-wire configurations.  These devices keep your connections clean, your equipment working, and your people on the job.  Also meets NEMA 4 Standards.

The splashproof series is designed for less demanding environments, where keeping the connector safe from dust or occasional liquid splashes is the main concern.  UNI-GARD splashproof devices in 20A, 30A, and 60A (International 16A, 32A, and 63A) ratings in 3-, 4-, and 5-wire configurations meet NEMA 3 Standards.

• Certified to CSA Standard C22.2 number 182.1 (Industrial-type, Special-use Attachment Plugs, Receptacles and Connectors).

• UL Classified to IEC Standards 309-1 and 309-2 (Plugs, Socket Outlets, and Couplers for Industrial Purposes) for both Series I (European) and Series II (North American) rated voltages and services.

• When used with (HAR) cord, these devices require no further investigation by UL for equipment Classification to IEC 435 or IEC 380.

International

• CEE is the abbreviation of "International Commission on rules for the approval of Electrical Equipment.

• IEC is the abbreviation of "International Electrotechnical Commission", which is the world organization for international standardization of electrical equipment. The cooperation of CEE and IEC resulted in the worldwide introduction of CEE Publication 17.

• The term "CEE" generally refers to Industrial Sockets and Plugs that comply with International Standard IEC 309, CEE Publication 17.

• Twenty-nine countries are members of the CEE. Some countries have adopted the new International Standard in their own national standards (for example, West Germany - VDE 0623, France - NFC 43310, Great Britain - BS 4343, South Africa - SABS 1239, Italy - CE 123/1).
